Interests: I think it's funny how many people put God first, then girls. I wonder what's on their minds more often... Anyway, I pray that God's love for me will be reflected in the way that I love my wonderful parents and my four fantastic sisters, as well as the Church, and those around me.

Notes from the waiting room

Well, my dad's in surgery right now.  I don't have much to say except that God is good, and that nothing catches Him by surprise!

Here's the chorus to "Beautiful Savior".  In this chorus are names of Christ, and we found passages for these at Friday Night Bible Study last week.  Now I'm not actually listening to the song, as displayed above, I just put it there for you to see.  Here's a link to the MP3 of the song for you to download.

Chorus:

Beautiful Savior Isa 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace,

Wonderful Counselor Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Clothed in majesty Psalm 45:3-4  Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and majesty!  In your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds

Lord of history John 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."

You're the way, the truth and the life  John 14:6  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Star of the morning  Rev 22:16  "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."

Glorious in Holiness   Exodus 15:15  Now are the chiefs of Edom dismayed; trembling seizes the leaders of Moab; all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.

You're the risen one  2Timothy 2:8-9  Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!

Heaven's Champion  Psalm 19:4-5  Their measuring line goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a champion, runs its course with joy.

And You reign, You reign Over all  Revelation 19:6  Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.

Misc. Things

Exactly 8 miles before I hit the 200,000 mile mark, my car refused to start.  $375 later (and a couple of days), it started up, and whizzed by the 200k'th mile!

Here's a very funny audio clip about Ghandi and the Emergant church movement.  Just the reincarnation and cow jokes make it funny!

You may be interested in this, from Pastor David's blog.  This is a neat video from Africa.  See his what he says about it.  Good stuff!

God Reached Down

I've recently dicovered a neat song.  I'm not sure I like the way that it's played, but the words paint a good picture in my mind of how nasty my (our) sins are, and how hopless we are apart from Christ.

I fell so far I did not know anyone could save me
I could not find a light as far as I could see
My body lay broken at the bottom of my prison
My hope washed away as the waves crashed over me

I could not see the top of the well in which I'd fallen
I was choking on the rising tide of filth and shame
You pulled me from the mouth of hell so You could hold me
You knew You'd save me long before I called Your name

Of course, the calvinist words make it all the better!
